Brewing the perfect cup of green tea is an abstruse process. If made incorrectly, the polyphenols that provide health benefits can ruin the flavor; hindering the taste of green tea. It is important to not overbrew. It is recommended to follow the manufacturer's instructions on the box. I noticed a difference when i made tea the correct way as opposed to the incorrect way. When I made it correctly, it tasted fresh. On the other hand, when i made it incorrectly, it tasted "gassy." Here are some general instructions for brewing green tea:
- Use one tea bag per cup
- fill a metal container or any boiling container with water and bring it to a boil
- Allow boiled water to stand for three minutes (be careful its very hot)
- Pour the heated water in a cup with the tea bag already in the cup
- Steep for three minutes
- Allow the tea to cool for three minutes
